South African Baseball Children Honoured at World Children’s Baseball Fair in Japan

We are thrilled to announce that our South African youth have been honoured as the team of the fair by the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs at the 30th World Youth Baseball Fair in Fukuoka, Japan. This recognition was presented by Minister Yoko Kamikawa for the team’s significant contribution to international friendship and cultural exchange through the baseball classes hosted at the event.

The team, under the watchful eye of chaperone Nicci America, enjoyed several days of baseball classes and cultural exchanges. During this time, the children from South Africa participated in various activities such as baseball glove care, pitching training, batting classes, barbecues, arts and culture sessions, and outdoor life skills.

The final day of activities saw the children enjoying a day of baseball by watching a Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks game. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the World Children’s Baseball Fair, with children from all over the world participating.

This achievement highlights South African Baseball’s dedication to fostering global connections and cultural understanding, making South Africa proud on the international stage.

Congratulations to our young ambassadors for their outstanding efforts in promoting international friendship and cultural exchange. #SouthAfricanBaseball
