Junior NBC 2025 Concludes with Big Wins and Bright Futures

The Junior leg of the 2025 South African National Baseball Championships drew to a thrilling close on Sunday, 6 April in Cape Town, wrapping up an unforgettable week of youth baseball that showcased the talent and determination of South Africa’s rising stars.

Hosted across the fields of Lansdowne Eagles, VOB Macaws, and Battswood Baseball Club, the week delivered exciting results and major performances in all age divisions.

In the U12 category, Gauteng A walked away as national champions, with Western Cape A finishing strong as runners-up. The U15 Boys saw an exceptional campaign from Western Cape A, who took the title after a dominant run, while Gauteng A claimed second place.

The U18 Boys division crowned Gauteng A as champions, following an impressive tournament filled with consistency and firepower. Western Cape A finished just behind in a hard-fought second place.

In the Girls U15 division, Gauteng A secured the top spot with excellent all-round performances, while Western Cape A earned the runner-up position after a strong campaign of their own.

The 2025 Junior NBC proved once again that the future of South African Baseball is in great hands, with nearly 90 young female players taking part and standout moments across every field.

The Gauteng U18 Angels again came out on top with another successful NBC walking away as U18 champions for the third successive year.  For the Gauteng Angels the event not only showcased their success in Cape Town at national champions but also the growth of Women in Baseball in Gauteng. 

Now, all eyes turn to the Senior Championships, with action set to begin on Tuesday, 8 April 2025. Provincial pride will be on the line as South Africa’s top senior teams take the field in Cape Town to continue the journey of excellence that began with the Juniors.
