South Africa closed out Day 2 of the African Women’s Baseball Championship in Harare with another set of impressive results, placing both the Senior and U18 teams in a strong position ahead of the final day of competition.
The U18 squad continued their excellent run of form, opening the day with a high-scoring 24–17 victory in the morning matchup before returning in the afternoon to secure a convincing 21–7 win.
The Senior Women matched this momentum with disciplined play across both fixtures, taking a 17–5 win in the first game and following it up with a confident 16–5 victory later in the day. These performances reflect the consistency and focus shown by both teams throughout the tournament.
As preparations shift toward the final day, the U18 Team HOD shared a positive update, noting that the players remain in good spirits, fully committed, and well settled. Accommodation and arrangements have been smooth, with supportive staff and well-balanced meals keeping the athletes comfortable and focused. With everything running steadily off the field, South Africa now enters the final phase of the championship with strong momentum and a collective determination to finish on a high.

The Senior Women’s Team features Calyn Angus, Sarah Becker, Ateeya Hermans, Megan Hesqua, Jordyn Smith, Mia Cloete, Angela Duke, Nicolene Grobler, Emily Mahlalela, Itumeleng Moreroa, Kaydshay Naude, Aniqa Oliver, Khensani Phalatsa, Melissa Pieterse, Kaylan Pieterse, Gena Poulton, Bonolo Tlome, and Shante Van Antwerp. The U18 National Team includes Amber Africa, Emily Barish, Tracey-Leigh Davies, Emily de Bruyn, Kayla Cavernelis, Riley Jeftha, Kimberley Knoop, Kendal Samuels, Katherine Uphill, Zay-yaan Moose, Londiwe Buthelezi, Courtney Campbell, Mia Cloete, Keitometsi Machate, Dineo Motobuli, Aliya Oliver, Zoe Pestana, and Nombulelo Weni. Together, both squads continue to represent South Africa with pride as the championship reaches its final day.

Supporting the Senior Women’s Team is a dedicated management group consisting of Head Coach Hayley Scott-Maree, Assistant Coaches Nicci America and Gert van Antwerp, Pitching Coach Gary Maree, and HOD/Team Manager Aziez Boomgaard. The U18 squad is guided by an equally committed management team led by Head Coach Geraldine Grobler, with Assistant Coaches David Beukes and Sean Addinall, and HOD Tracy Okes overseeing team operations. Their combined leadership has ensured that both teams remain organised, prepared, and focused throughout the tournament.
