South African Baseball5 heads to the Free State – More clubs More schools

This coming week again sees South African Baseball take to the road as we continue to promote the game of Baseball5.

Under the guidance of South African Baseball5 head coach Americo Juma Baseball5 has grown rapidly in South Africa with several Baseball 5 clinics presented in various provinces across South Africa this year.

Having completed the Baseball5 schools’ festival in Mamelodi Township on Friday, and then active with the Baseball5 national team for their three-day training camp, “Coach Juma” now takes the road to The Free State. Juma will introduce and present the game of Baseball5 in the five Free State districts together with the Free State Baseball Federation from 17 – 21 October 2022.

Having planned the Baseball5 clinic roadshow with FSBU President Clifton Barnes locations have been sequentially allocated to Sasolburg, Bothaville, Welkom, Smithfield, and Bloemfontein

Baseball5 is a unique mix gender sport which can be played anywhere, and surprisingly is not played with a bat. Games are played with five players per side using a soft rubber ball for five innings and must always have two active players per gender in play.

The format of Baseball5 allows for clubs and schools to easily recruit new members and introduce participants to the game of Baseball. To find out how to get Baseball5 started at your club or school please click here.

After winning the African Championships in Tanzania this year South Africa is now on their way to the Baseball5 World Cup in November in Mexico.

The National Team members are currently busy with several fundraising initiatives and need your help to get to Mexico. Please click here to find out more about their Back a Buddy campaign.
