The South African u12 Elite Squad continued to prepare for the u12 World Cup to be held in Tainan, Taiwan from 29 July 2022. 
The past two weeks have seen head coach Ian Griebenauw travel to Johannesburg to work with the Gauteng contingent whilst ensuring athletes from other provinces remain on track.
Through the use of modern technology such as Zoom coach Ian has ensured the athletes and coaches for the u12 elite training squad have their various training programs in place.
The program schedule of sixty sessions now with eighteen sessions complete aims to continue the development of players across the country as part of the preparation for the ongoing U12 International Participation.
This past weekend saw the juniors from various provinces including Gauteng and Eastern Cape gather in Cape Town with much excitement. The weekend schedule included matches on Saturday at the Durbanville Baseball club and Sunday at the Milnerton Baseball club.
The WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup qualification process with world No. 26 South Africa confirmed as Africa’s representative. The WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2021 is scheduled from 29 July to 7 August 2022 in Tainan. It’s the sixth edition of a unique international tournament. The WBSC is the only world governing body that sanctions an official world championship for this age bracket.
