South African Baseball 5 concluded an eventful week in the Western Cape. Headed by Americo Juma, South African Baseball 5’s, and joined by South African Baseball Vice President Dennis Philander, as well as Nicci Adonis, Head of Baseball5 in the Western Cape.
The initiatives aim to foster awareness for South African Baseball 5 and plays a pivotal role in talent identification for Baseball 5 in South Africa and seeking ETS selection for the Baseball5 national team for the world cup qualifiers Next year.
The week comprised an array of activities, including ETS trials, coaching clinics, and school outreach projects.
Kicking off with trials for the Elite Training Squads (ETS) at Milnerton on Sunday, the week was followed by visits to several schools, such as Hyde Park Primary Parkwood, John Graham Primary, the newly formed Khayelitsha Giants Baseball club, Bothasig High schools, and Panorama Primary on Monday and Tuesday.
The roadshows next destination is the North West, where clinics in 28 schools will be made accessible to aspiring players.
Upcoming events include Gauteng trials on 20 November 2023 and educators clinics on 25 November 2023.
South African Baseball 5 is on an upward trajectory, and we can anticipate an increasing number of talented players representing the nation on the international stage.
With upcoming events in Limpopo, Gauteng, the North West, and Ekhurhuleni, the roadshow will further solidify baseball’s position in the country, inspiring future generations in the process.
