It’s all hands on deck for South African Baseball5 as we see training camps, festivals, and a women’s baseball rollout this coming weekend.
Friday, 14 October 2022 sees eleven schools participating in the Baseball5 festival in Mamelodi Township. The event comes on the back of a number of Baseball5 introductory clinics and now sees several children take to the court for the first time since their introduction to the Baseball5 play everywhere format.
The South African Baseball5 national team will be joining the festival to support the various teams as they begin their training camp in preparation for the WBSC Baseball5 World Cup in Mexico in November.
The team moves to the Eduplex High School in Pretoria on Saturday and then a meet and greet with the fans at the long-standing Pat McKinnon Baseball tournament at the Giants Baseball Club in Edenvale on Sunday.
Our South African Baseball5 team needs your help to raise funds for the Baseball5 World Cup. Please click here to read more about their Back a Buddy Campaign. Every rand raised will be contributed towards the team’s travel expenses.
Next week will see fans in the Centurion area able to join the team at the Menlyn Barnyard for their nineties and nineties fundraising party on 20 October 2022, from 17:30, tickets are R200 per person. The event is a Barnyard Theatre production and a percentage of each ticket sold will be contributed to the South African Baseball5 travel costs.
