The first games starting as double headers on 17 January 2025. The stakes are high as the two nations compete for the coveted spot in the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, scheduled to take place from 5 to 14 September 2025, in Japan.

Led by Coach Dean McKinnon, South Africa is the only African nation to have competed on the world stage in this age bracket. The team has proudly participated in eight U-18 Baseball World Cup editions, a testament to their strong programme and commitment to baseball development on the continent.
