Women’s National All Stars close Women’s Baseball with view to future

As is always the case, the South African Championships once again delivered a strong showcase of the country’s top talent, with a clear emphasis on the growth and quality of the women’s game. The All Star teams remain one of the standout features of the tournament, bringing together the best women players from across all provinces into a high-performance environment.

The All Star selections, split into All Stars A and All Stars B, were put together by Tournament Director and SABU Vice President Paddy van Niekerk, alongside coaches Hayley Scott-Maree and Nikki America. The focus is not only on recognising performance, but on building depth in the women’s programme, creating combinations, and strengthening connections between players who could soon represent South Africa on the international stage.

The All Star match, played just before the Men’s final, placed the spotlight firmly on the women, delivering a competitive and high-quality contest. All Stars A secured a 10–8 win over All Stars B in a game that reflected the rising standard, intensity and tactical awareness within the women’s division.
