South African Baseball recently announced the Elite Training Squad for the U12 national baseball team as preparation for the U12 World Cup gets underway.

The 38-strong squad features strong provincial representation: the Gauteng contingent includes Troy Branders, Ethan De Jager, Luke De Lange, Jarred Long, Jonathan Stacey, James Hennessy, Adrian Erasmus, Seth Hains, Nate Lerwill, Mason Sage, Sebastian Savides, Evan Grobler, Sanele Malinga, Tariro Mutseka and Samkelo Sagwar; Limpopo’s quartet comprises Rebone Mphahlele, Mosa Mphahlele, Titus Motimele and Itumeleng Rahatji; Eastern Cape selections are Luke Bailes, Noah Juric and Camden Le Grange; while Western Cape’s group features Kaleb Amos, Riley Coleman, Blaine Sawyer, Casey Uys, Niyaaz Pietersen, Abulele Sotyato, Maahir Taliep, Taahir Solomons, Hayden Van der Vent, Carl Lewis, Quiwinn Adams, MJ Van Wyk, Curtis Titus, Kaden Africa, Elijah Jones and Demlyn Pieters.

Under the guidance of National U12 Head coach Shawn Schwartz, the squad will be training in various provinces before final selection, embarking on an intensive preparation programme focused on skill development, team cohesion and competitive readiness.

The WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2025 is scheduled from 25/07/2025 to 03/08/2025 in Tainan, Taiwan, at the Asia Pacific International Baseball Stadium, the only U-12 purpose-built venue worldwide.
