SA Under-15 National Team announced for the 2024 WBSC U15 World Cup

 

The South African Baseball Union is pleased to announce the selection of the Under-15 National Team for the WBSC U15 World Cup, scheduled to take place in Barranquilla, Colombia, from August 15 to August 24, 2024. South Africa has been drawn into Group B, alongside Mexico, Chinese Taipei, Venezuela, the Netherlands, and Nicaragua. South Africa proudly stands as the sole representative from the African continent in a tournament that showcases a total of 12 teams from Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania.

Following a comprehensive selection process that included reviewing performances at the South African National Baseball Championships in Mandela Bay, the team has been finalized. The roster features a blend of experienced competitors and first-time representatives, including players that have come through the ranks from the U12 divisions, indicating robust development in South African baseball talent.

Team members include:
– Western Cape: Cameron Combrink, Lyle Farrell, Teegan Fradd, Tyler Govender, Baariq Hermans, Julian Klaasen, Riaan Kuyk, Valentino Louw, Jamie Moran, Jayden Nicholls, Luca Orgil, Tyler Peters, Connor Stander, Ethan Beaumont Thomas, Zac Young
– Gauteng: Joshua Cook, Ethan Foley, Liam van der Westhuizen
– Limpopo: Chuma Sthembiso, Maeta Matsobane
