South Africa U15 Boys Set for WBSC World Cup in Mexico as ETS Squad Announced

South African Baseball has confirmed the Under 15 Boys Elite Training Squad (ETS) following the South African National Baseball Championships 2026, recently held in Boksburg, Gauteng.

The National Championships once again delivered a strong platform for talent identification, with players from across the country competing at a high level. The selected ETS squad reflects a balanced national footprint, with representation from Western Cape, Gauteng, Limpopo and Eastern Cape, highlighting the continued growth of the game across regions.

This group now forms the foundation of the national Under 15 programme as preparations begin for the WBSC U15 Baseball World Cup, scheduled to take place in Mérida, Mexico from 25 September to 4 October 2026, which will most likely be pre-ceded by a training camp in the Dominican Replublic.

Qualification for this event comes off the back of a successful continental campaign, with the Africa qualifiers held in Kenya last year, where South Africa’s U15 Baseball Team was crowned WBSC Africa Champions after completing an undefeated run at the tournament in Nairobi.

The upcoming World Cup presents a significant opportunity for these players to compete at the highest level of international youth baseball, while continuing to build the national pathway toward senior representation. The ETS programme will guide this process through structured training, ongoing assessment, and final team selection in the months ahead.

The Under 15 Boys ETS Squad includes Troy Abrahams, Kaleb Amos, Luminathi Bokwana, Caleb Boniface, Brooklyn Oakley, Hayden Chamberlain, Ashton Devy, Mikhail Gerber, Reece George, Rylee Greyvenstein, Mlungisi Malinga, Daniel Moolman, Andrew Moore, Tinashe Mutseka, Mohlompheng Nhlane, Cade October, Kian Palmer, Connar Pieters, Mateo Pinto, Maseeh Tagodien, Adriaan vd Merwe, Tristan Viljoen, Jordan Visser and Tatum White.
