Discussions included governance, policy, financial sustainability, and the operational and funding challenges faced by athletes and parents once national teams are selected for international competition.
The members unanimously acknowledged the significant progress made by South African Baseball over recent years. South African Baseball was recognised as a leading force in African baseball, while continuing to strengthen the identity and presence of the South African Baseball brand both locally and internationally. Particular recognition was given to the continued growth and advancement of women’s baseball, with members commending the work undertaken to expand opportunities and increase participation across the country.
The meeting also elected the following office bearers:
Dr Marc Moreau – President
Mr Patrick van Niekerk – Vice President (Technical)
Mr Dennis Philander – Vice President (Baseball)
Mr Thabang Letsoalo – Vice President Development and Transformation
Ms Chantal Wilson – General Secretary
The elective process was conducted under the supervision of an independent chairperson and was endorsed by the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC), ensuring a transparent and credible election process.
