South African Baseball NBC 2023 likely to be the biggest ever

The 2023 South African National Baseball Championships or “NBC” as it is more fondly known in South Africa Baseball circles is now just over three weeks away from launch day and baseball fever is mounting by the day in anticipation of the major event.

The event which is this year hosted by The Gauteng Baseball Federation at the Cardinals Baseball Club in Boksburg is by all accounts set to be the highlight of the annual South African Baseball Calendar.

With team registrations now concluded and only online player registration and final rosters in the pipeline, the event will see more than forty teams from several districts and provinces go head-to-head for eleven days starting 1 April 2023 at the iconic Boksburg Cardinals venue.

The NBC 2023 will see in excess of one thousand players across multiple divisions including boys, girls women, and senior men in action.

While several teams will be going all out to retain titles many will be using the opportunity to gain valuable experience. 2022 Seniors champions Cape Town Baseball will be going all out to retain their Mens Senior title but there is no doubt that several other provinces such as Gauteng who this year have home-ground advantage and now promoted division one newcomer Mandela Bay will not let this slide easily.

On the Women’s Baseball front fans will see some great baseball with the Free State Gryphons, the Gauteng Dodgers, and the Gauteng Angles in action.

For baseball participants, fans, friends, and family the event promises to deliver much value and entertainment as the Boksburg Cardinals offer one of South Africa’s top baseball facilities.

1-4 April 2023 will see the Boys U10, U12, U15, U18, and Girls U18 play in the tournament round robin with 5 April 2023 earmarked as the playoff day followed by Mens Seniors, U23, and Senior Women from 7-10 April 2023 and 11 April 2023 listed as the final playoff day.

Tickets on sale at tickets.sabaseball.co.za starting from R20 per day.
