South Africa’s women’s baseball programme celebrated a proud moment on Tuesday evening with a double-header capping ceremony held in two provinces. The Gauteng contingent received their national caps at Boksburg Baseball Club, while the Western Cape group gathered at Durbanville Baseball Club. Both venues were filled with excitement as families, coaches, and players marked the honour of national selection after months of steady preparation across national and provincial camps.

The selected Senior Women’s Team players include Calyn Angus, Sarah Becker, Megan Hesqua, Jordyn Smith (Western Cape); and Mia Cloete, Angela Duke, Nicolene Grobler, Emily Mahlalela, Itumeleng Moreroa, Kaydshay Naude, Aniqa Oliver, Khensani Phalatsa, Melissa Pieterse, Kaylan Pieterse, Gena Poulton, Bonolo Tlome, Shante Van Antwerp (Gauteng). Non-travelling reserves are Storm Butler, Kirame Kleber, Nthabiseng Ranyane (Gauteng), and Tara Griebenow, Amaarah Larney (Western Cape). The U18 National Team includes Amber Africa, Emily Barish, Tracey-Leigh Davies, Emily de Bruyn, Kayla Cavernelis, Riley Jeftha, Kimberley Knoop, Kendal Samuels, Katherine Uphill, Zay-yaan Moose (Western Cape); and Londiwe Buthelezi, Courtney Campbell, Mia Cloete, Keitometsi Machate, Charne Meyer,  Aliya Oliver,  Nombulelo Weni (Gauteng). Callyn Gordon from the Western Cape has been named as a non-travelling reserve, with the U18 team led by Head Coach Geraldine Grobbelaar.
