Team South Africa arrived safely in Lusaka, Zambia, this morning ahead of the African Qualifier for the 2026 WBSC Baseball5 World Cup. After a long delay in Johannesburg, the team finally settled in at the Olympic Centre in Lusaka during the afternoon.
Already in the country were Cape Verde and Tunisia, who arrived earlier in the week, while Zambia and Burkina Faso completed their arrivals later in the evening. The atmosphere is upbeat as all nations prepare for the continental showdown that will determine Africa’s representatives at the 2026 Baseball5 World Cup.
The qualifier officially marks the start of the road to the 2026 World Cup, as highlighted by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), which confirmed the event as part of Africa’s pathway to the global tournament.
Team South Africa is expected to hold its first training session today as they adjust to local conditions and finalise preparations ahead of their opening match. The squad remains focused and motivated as they aim to secure qualification and proudly represent South Africa on the international stage.
