The South Africa Baseball U15 team remains unbeaten at the WBSC Africa U15 Qualifiers in Nairobi, Kenya, where four nations — South Africa, Uganda, South Sudan, and hosts Kenya — are competing for the continent’s single qualification spot to the 2026 WBSC U15 Baseball World Cup

South Africa entered the competition as strong contenders following months of Elite Training Squad (ETS) preparation across the Western Cape, Gauteng, Eastern Cape, and Limpopo. The team’s discipline, structure, and technical ability have been evident from the start, setting a high standard throughout the tournament.
On Saturday, South Africa continued their winning form with a 9–4 victory over Uganda before adding a 9–0 result against South Sudan. The second match ended in a forfeit after South Sudan fielded a pitcher who had already reached his tournament pitching limit. At the time of the stoppage, South Africa was already ten runs ahead.
Following these results, South Africa leads the standings with 12 points from four games. Uganda and South Sudan are level on six points, while Kenya remain winless.
The team has enjoyed strong support and excellent organisation from the Baseball Federation of Kenya, with all matches being played in Nairobi under good conditions and strong local attendance. South Africa’s players and coaching staff have adapted well to the travel and environment, showing high levels of focus and teamwork throughout the week.
The final day of competition will take place on Sunday, where each nation will play two final fixtures to complete the round-robin stage. South Africa will look to finish the event undefeated and confirm Africa’s qualifying place for the 7th WBSC U15 Baseball World Cup, in 2026.
