The South African Baseball Union (SABU) has confirmed that the South Africa U18 National Baseball Team has officially departed for Japan to compete in the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, taking place from 5 to 14 September 2025 in Okinawa and Nishihara.

Kyle Titus has also joined the team as Trainer, responsible for physical conditioning and recovery.
SABU President Dr Marc Moreau expressed his pride as the team departed: “We are incredibly proud of this group of young men who will now represent our country on the world stage. The recent capping ceremonies were truly special, marking an important milestone in their baseball journey. I want to thank all the coaches for their tireless work in preparing the players and a very big thank you to the parents who have been supporting closely behind the scenes. Their commitment has made this moment possible, and now it is time for our team to go out, compete with pride, and enjoy the experience of a lifetime.”
With strong national support and the hopes of South African baseball behind them, the U18 squad now begins their World Cup journey in Japan, determined to fly the flag with pride.
