The South African National Baseball Championships 2023 got underway today at the Boksburg Cardinals in Gauteng with much excitement and anticipation.
The opening ceremony was a momentous occasion, with SA Baseball Vice President Patrick van Niekerk and Gauteng Baseball President Dean McKinon officiating the proceedings.
The day kicked off on a high note, with players, coaches, officials, and supporters all eager to witness the start of this prestigious event held at the Boksburg Cardinals Baseball Club with the venue itself showcasing a fantastic setup in pristine condition.
Teams from all over the country gathered at the Boksburg Cardinals for the championships, with boys under 10, under 12, under 15, and under 18 teams competing, alongside girls under 18 sides.
The atmosphere was electric, with players and supporters alike displaying high levels of enthusiasm and passion for the game. The competition was fierce with each game played with intensity and a strong will to win.
As the day progressed, it was clear that the standard of baseball in South Africa is on the rise. The tournament promises to be a thrilling showcase of the best baseball players in the country, with each game set to provide an exciting spectacle for those in attendance.
The South African National Baseball Championships is this year hosted by the Gauteng Provincial Baseball Federation at the Boksburg Cardinals Baseball Club from 1 – 11 April 2023
