South African U15s Complete Dual Capping Ceremonies Ahead of WBSC Africa Qualifier

The South African Baseball U15 team marked an important milestone this past weekend with two capping ceremonies held in Johannesburg and Cape Town, giving players from across the country their official send-off ahead of the WBSC Africa U15 Championship and World Cup Qualifier in Kenya from 5–7 December 2025.

The Cape Town ceremony had a strong senior presence, with national players Dayle Feldtman and Dylan Unsworth in attendance, along with South African Baseball President Mr Marc Moreau, who addressed the squad and offered his support. The atmosphere was warm and celebratory, with the pride of families and coaches clear to see.

In Johannesburg, the team was backed by U12 National Coach Shaun Swartz, Gauteng Baseball President Dean Mckinnon, and national players Damion King and Brandon Bouillon. Parents and coaches shared the same sense of pride as players were capped and recognised ahead of international duty.

Both ceremonies followed months of steady preparation and structured training as the squad worked towards the upcoming qualifier.

South Africa now heads into the Nairobi event ready to face Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan at the JKUAT Field of Dreams in Juja. With games starting daily at 08:00 and a World Cup place on the line, the team enters the tournament well prepared and strongly supported by the national baseball community.
