South African Baseball is proud to announce its Elite Training Squads for the U15 Girls’, U18 Girls’ and Senior Ladies teams, following the National Baseball Championships in Cape Town. These selections showcase the depth of talent coming through our women’s pathway and set the stage for a busy high-performance calendar ahead.

The U15 Girls’ ETS squad brings together fourteen players from GPBC—Anelisa Bobotyane, Madison Botha, Amoray Clark, Shayla-Mae De Jager, Amberleigh De Kock, Kimberley Dowling, Razaanha Du Preez, Emma Lake, Tinyiko Mauze, Charne Meyer, Lucy Miller, Persephone Schoeman, Ketwa Snangomso and Peyton Watkins—and eleven from WCBF—Ziah Baartman, Gia Beukes, Onwabile Gxalaba, Jemma Jonathan, Zara Kariem, Hanim Mosaval, Rania Petersen, Emily Samuels, Cailyn Smit, Eden Stellenboom and Jordan Terry. Under coach Zulpha Stellenboom’s leadership, the squad will build on its successes at the NBC and form part of the fast-track development plans for women’s junior baseball in South Africa.

The U18 Girls’ ETS squad features ten rising stars from GPBC—Deany Booysen, Elziney Bouwer, Londiwe Buthelezi, Courtney Campbell, Mia Cloete, Lebo Letuka, Keitometsi Machate, Dineo Motobuli, Aliya Oliver and Zoe Pestana—and thirteen from WCBF—Amber Africa, Emily Barish, Kayla Cavernelis, Tracey-Leigh Davies, Emily De Bruyn, Cailyn Gordon, Kimberley Knoop, Zay-yaan Moose, Zelmonique Reitz, Jafta Riley, Zara Ryklief, Kendall Samuels and Katherine Uphill. Several of these players were part of the junior series against Zimbabwe last year and now look forward to their next sequence of advanced tactics and strength work ahead of possible Africa competitions. Coach Gerry Grobler continues to spearhead their programme.

The Senior Ladies’ ETS squad combines experience and new energy: from GPBC—Riane Bosman, Chaunzelle Bouwer, Storm Butler, Mia Cloete, Angela Duke, Nicolene Grobler, Kirame Kleber, Emily Mahlalela, Itumeleng Moreroa, Kaydshay Naude, Aniqa Oliver, Cornell Pelzer, Melissa Pieterse, Kaylan Pieterse, Gena Poulton, Nthabiseng Ranyane, Shante Van Antwerp and Khensani Phalatsa—and from WCBF— Calyn Angus, Sarah Becker, Ateeya Hermans, Megan Hesqua, Lucinda Jaftha, Amaarah Larney, Jordan Smith and Zulfah Stellenboom. These players will all form part of the provincial elite programmes for the remainder of the year, together with the provincial coaches who will be announced shortly. The South African National Team will work towards World Cup qualification under the guidance of Head Coach and South African Head of Women in Baseball, Hayley Scott-Maree, driving the performance and strategic plan in South Africa.
